Amputee Care Group
How We Can Help
The entire process of Limb Loss goes well beyond the individual experiencing it first-hand. Every loved one, family member, and friend in that person’s life also feels the effects of this traumatic experience, but they are often overlooked. The degree and magnitude of the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual challenges vary with each situation. Every individual facing limb loss must learn to grieve in order to fully heal, and those that are closest to these persons, especially spouses, parents, and children must learn how to help during this grieving process. It is certainly a challenge, but we are here to provide the resources, including others who have been through it themselves and can provide real-life experiences, that will make this journey less difficult.
We host quarterly meetings that typically run from 6:30PM – 8:00PM to encourage those who work to also have the opportunity to participate alongside their loved ones. A portion of each meeting is even dedicated to the care takers, themselves, which has proven to be extremely beneficial and helpful.
